Guaranteed Authentic Research

You will not find a more trusted heraldic organization on the Internet.  We have access to the largest global heraldic database, historical records, manuscripts and the world's top research analysts.*

Our historical analysts perform their duties from records in the Old Country as well as from the US.  Every Coat of Arms we provide is supported by detailed, meticulous analysis of the name's origin, in some cases dating back to the 10th Century.  We call this detailed analysis the Family Name History, which is an elaborate way to say: Here's why we Guarantee Authenticity.  Every Family Name History has a written description of the Coat of Arms, the Crest and Motto if available.  We will not make up a Coat of Arms that is not supported by this fundamental research.  Every Family Name History comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.    Note: Family Name Histories are not personal genealogies.

*See Research and Translations Link on left sidebar for details.

Important Note:

We research each Coat of Arms and Name History from a recognized reference source but it should be clearly understood that no direct genealogical connection is intended or implied.  Arms have been granted over the last centuries to countless thousands of individuals including possibly someone of your surname.  Clearly you would not use such a Coat of Arms, but there is no legal injunction against hanging up any armorial bearings for display only, for which purpose they are superbly fitted.

The Law of Arms:

The Chief Herald, Dublin, Ireland, The Officer in Waiting (College of Arms), London, and the Lord Lyon King of Arms, Scotland, along with other Heraldic Colleges point out that the hand-painted Coat of Arms that we provide or mentioned have been granted to a person with the same family name or a variant.  We encourage you to display the Coat of Arms with family pride as a work of art; hand-painted by a heraldic artist.  In certain countries, laws of Heraldry are still enforced.  If you intend to display these Arms in public, please check with the appropriate governing bodies.
