The
creator of these rings, the Master Sealengraver, has over 50 years experience
of hand engraving many hundreds of Gold and Gemstone signet rings for
an exclusive clientele - including European Royalty, using techniques
that have hardly altered for thousands of years. Every ring is
hallmarked to ensure authenticity. See what our customers say
here.
"... Just wanted to drop you a note
to say a special thank you for the beautiful rings. All of the
sons and daughters-in-law were thrilled to receive what will be a
lasting testament to a family rich in both history and love.
You produced ten rings in less than
two weeks for our family and truly saved the day for us.
Thank you again for helping us to create what will surely be a Molloy
family heirloom that will be enjoyed by many generations to come."

Detailed Examination: Family
Crest Ring without Mantling
Each ring undergoes
a series of processes whereby the design is hand drawn onto
the rings' surface (in reverse), the metal is then carved
away (incised) using hand tools, designed and handmade for
each specific task, and then finally polished by hand producing
a totally unique seal.
We at HistoricalNames.com are sure that you will be amazed
at the brilliant artistry, skill and sheer beauty of the finished
seal ring.

What's the Difference?
Die-Stamped vs. Cast Rings
Before
deep engraving takes place there two main ways of manufacturing
signet rings:
CAST RINGS
-
Cast rings are made by simply pouring molten gold into a mould.
However cast gold like all cast metal is porous and this will
lead to the ring wearing significantly quicker in comparison
to a die-stamped ring.
DIE-STAMPED
RINGS - The skilled
and complex process of producing a die-stamped ring begins
with a sheet of highly compressed gold, from which the flat
profile of the signet ring is stamped. This stamping process
is done under great weight, which in turn compresses the gold
even further, making the gold incredibly dense, resulting
in a much harder, stronger ring.
A skilled goldsmith then crafts the flat profile into a blank
signet ring, which is polished, and finally engraved.
Not only is the signet ring considerably harder wearing, but
also as the metal is so dense it leads to a more precise cut,
and is therefore much better for engraving, giving your signet
ring a sharper, more defined image.
The quality of a HistoricalNames.com Signet Ring renowned
worldwide but we trust our engraving will not just last a
lifetime but be passed on to future generations. This is why
we only use the very best quality die-stamped signet rings
for our engraving.

Quick Facts:
The coat of arms evolved as a necessary symbol
for knights in medieval times, today the "coat of arms"
and its companion the "family crest" serve as interesting
and unique reference points to family name history.

some countries, including Canada you still can apply for a new Coat of
Arms.
